HD Projectors

By Dave Smith

For the very best in home cinema entertainment, the only way to go is with HD digital projectors. This would have cost alot of money a few years ago. In todays market however HD projectors can be found at similar prices to LCD HD tvs.

They offer utterly amazing quality and feeling whether used for presentations or even more popularly for home entertainment. They produce an amazing feeling and experience when watching movies and films or even playing console games i.e playstation 3. On such a large screen with such amazing quality is awesome.

A few things to consider before purchasing a HD digital projector are firstly, whether you have a sufficiently sized room. Most importantly is the ambience control you will have, This refers to the amount of light that is allowed in. Rooms with large windows or several doors will allow in light that will need to be controlled. HD projectors must be used in dark or dimly lit rooms to ensure you get the very best quality from them. Also although not vital it is strongly recommended that when using HD digital projectors you also use a screen.

Consider the inputs that a HD projector has and what inputs you need whether it is to connect a Laptop/PC, DVD player, or Cable or Satellite. Many HD projectors come with multiple different inputs which will allow a variety of devices to be used . All HD projector come with remote controls so its worth considering what you will mostly be using it for and finding remotes that can support this.

HD projectors are available in either portable or ceiling mounted. Both offer their own benefits. Portable projectors alllow you to easily transport them from place to place, whilst ceiling mounted are much prefered for home cinema as they do not take up floor space and also only have to be setup a first time for optimum viewing.

You should consider having a descent surround sound system when using HD projectors for home cinema. The sound adds so much to the cinema experience that it would be ashame to go through all the effort of purchasing and setting up a HD projector and spoiling the effect with a lame sound.

In recent years High Definition projectors have come a long way in their ability to produce stunning images, offering brighter output and higher contrast ratios whilst at the same time lowering the cost.

HD projectors are clearly the best choice providing you have the sufficient space and ambience control. - 31846

Hdmi Cables: Are They Right For You?

By Jeremy Pabloccis

If you are anything like me then you are wondering what HDMI cables are used for and what they mean and pretty much just everything about them. I am here to tell you that they are more simple than you think they are. They pretty much take the place of a cable that is probably hooked to your television right now. The cable that is red, green and blue, in some cases they are red, white and yellow.

Now that we got that over with. An HDMI cable is for you to have better sound quality and better picture quality through your television. If you do not have a plasma television, I am not saying that this cable will make it look like one. I am simply stating that it will make your television quite a bit better than it is now.

Let me clear this up real quick, an HDMI cable will not work on all televisions and all devices. The HDMI cables did not even come out until two thousand and three and they have just recently become pretty popular. If you have a television that looks like one you bought back when televisions were first invented then you probably need to upgrade to something better before you try using an HDMI cable because there is no place to stick the cable in a television that is this old.

I had always heard that HDMI cables were very cool and that they make your television very clear. I wondered if my television could be hooked to one and I soon found out that it qualified! So I also found out that they can make my sound better and I did notice this after hooking one up.

This cable is good because it makes your sound quality and picture a lot clearer and not only that but it also will help to prevent all the clutter that you have from other cables that are hanging around. An HDMI will replace more than just one cable and then it wont look like you have a big cluster of cables and wires coming out of the back of your entertainment system.

When you use a regular hook up to your television through a DVD player it can distort your image because it has to travel through your cable twice. This in turn makes it more distorted, where an HDMI cable will only travel through one time. What is it that travels through, you ask? They say the digital video and sounds have to be converted into analog to travel through a cable.

When buying a device that you want to hook up with HDMI it is important to get one that has three hook ups. For instance you need a television with a minimum of three because then you can hook up three different devices to your television and this will prevent you from having to switch the cable every single time you need to use a different device.

If you have a television that you can hook up to your DVD player and they both have an HDMI cable input, then you should give it a try. I am not someone who conforms with anything and I can say that I was happy that I conformed with this because it made this so much better and the price was steep but it was so worth it. IF your looking to go with an HDMI then you can find them online or at some local department stores. - 31846

Useful Information About Your Projector Lamp Life

By Jong Hun

In order to make your projector lamp reach the maximum length in life span there are few tips that you should know as a user.

In order to correctly manipulate the projector lamp you need a piece of textile cloth or a pair of textile gloves. The lamp must never be touched with the fingers so it is always wise to manipulate the lamps components using a pair of textile gloves. The prints that remain on the glass of the lamp can cause the rising of the temperature in those areas and on the long term can significantly reduce the duration of the lamps functioning.

Another preventive measure is clearing the projectors filters. The dirty filters are blocking the air flow and cause the overheating of the lamp reducing the functioning period. In case of a replacement using the warranty certificate, the producer will test the lamp to see if the damage has occurred due to the overheating from filter clogging. If the test proves that that was the case the warranty is annulled. That is why it is very important to let the airflow around the projector as free as possible.

If you wish to introduce a new bulb in the existing lighting module of the lamp, make sure that the terminals are very tightly closed because the ceramic block can crack and that may cause ruptures that are reducing considerably the electronic isolation of the lamp.

On the other hand if the terminals are loose the risk of an electric arc to be produced is very high and this will cause the malfunction of the lamps source of power or even of the lamp itself.

Always use the remote control when stopping the projector. If you unplug the device without stopping it first the projector will invariably enter the cooling mode when the image is stopped and the fan will accelerate the cooling of the lamp in a controlled mode. The temperature of the lamp during operating mode is 1,000 C. Unplugging the lamp without letting it first passing through the off mode will cause the unequal cooling of the lamps glass which can cause the cracking of the glass and the premature malfunction of the lamp. - 31846

Logitech Computer Speakers x240 - The 101 On Logitech Speakers For Your Computer

By Jessica Lauren

Looking for some good speakers to play your itunes? Let's take a look at the Logitech Computer Speakers x240. Is this speaker system worth it's price and does it give you the sound that you require for your needs? Let's take a closer look and then you can make an informed decision on whether the logitech computer speakers x240 s are right for you.

Since these speakers are on the lower end of cost it may draw many people to take a second look when you are going down the list of speakers. You do not want to get cheap speakers if they are not all that they should be though do you? Thankfully however these speakers do put out some good sound and can enhance you listening experience. The 5 star reviews have me ready to go with these speakers and your kids will like that the speakers are the ability to keep the neighbors up down the street.

There are some other great features that come with these speakers. One of my favorites is the integrated stowaway cradle. All you have to do is slide out the cradle on the control pod if you want to charge, sync or play your digital music player. The only con people found with this feature was the fact that it does not come with an Ipod. :( lol This control panel also has the headphone jack.

There is a separate volume control on the subwoofer unlike some other speakers. This can come in pretty handy if you like to tweak your sound. With my non tech savvy self I personally do not touch any of the setting on my speakers.

There is also a nice look to these speakers. The speakers are not big and bulky and they won't be getting in your way since their dimensions are a nice size :

Satellites: 6.9″ x 2.6″ x 3.8″

Subwoofer: 8.7″ x 5.9″ x 8.7″

The subwoofer is a 4 inch down firing subwoofer. Not totally sure what that means but since I found that info I figured someone might be more technical and know what it means.

All in all these speakers are a good buy. They offer a good sound and at a reasonable price and if you're on a budget - like myself - that's a good thing! You don't want to sacrifice your sound and entertainment experience but you don't want to kill your wallet. - 31846

Plasma Or Projection TV's

By Tim Gorman

When you are setting up your home theater you need to decide on what is the best way for you to watch. Many people would not have anything other than a projector as it adds to the cinema theme as well as giving you a very good image as big as you want. But many others do not want to deal with projectors and screens and would rather have the convenience of a TV style screen that you just turn on and play the DVD in as you would in any other room but on a bigger screen.

If you are using a projector then it is a good idea to make sure that your room has good thick curtains so that you can block the light from the room. As the image is produced through a projected light then it is best to use a projector in a fairly dark room. With some of the latest projectors they have a light sensor so that if the light is too bright for the image then it brightens the light to make it stronger. You also have to set up a projector for the movie and put up the screen. But it does give you a really good sense of being at the cinema as well as a really good, large picture that is very high quality.

There are some really good plasma screens around now and the cost is dropping. But you still get the sense that you are watching TV. Although if you put it on the wall then it is a lot more like a real screen. Plasmas have an advantage over projectors if you have a small room, as they did not need any space to project an image.

Although plasma TV does not have the same movie theater aspect to it as a projector does it is very easy to use and does give you a very good image.

If you want ease of use and a great quality picture and are happy either to have a smaller screen, or you are able to pay for a very big one, then plasma might be best for you. But a projector can give you a really good quality image that is as big as you want and there are some very good projectors that are very cheap. But you also have to set up the screen as well as the projector whenever you want to see a movie. But whatever you choose it is always worth trying it out in the store so that you can see which is the best for you. - 31846
